Kaleidoscope Underglaze Base
Leslie’s Kaleidoscope Bases is a multipurpose underglaze superior to simply adding water or other adhesive solutions to oxides and stains that are prone to dusting or flaking off ceramic surface before, during, or after firing. The base has been used with great success by muralists or individuals desiring to make their own custom translucent or opaque underglaze colors, or to ensure that colorants bond to the clay surface. To make an underglaze color, add approximately one level tablespoon (10 grams) of glaze stain, oxide such as iron, chrome, copper, or minerals such as rutile or titanium to 4 ounces of Kaleidoscope Bases.
